Keyboards can be a computer keyboard or it may be a music keyboard.In Computer terminology the keyboard is used as the input device used to enter the data . This data may be text or may be the numbers or may be signs.When you look at the keyboard it is some portions,one is for the alphabetic typing ,other portion is for entering numbers,another for the systems commands and of course for the purpose of navigation ,like arrow keys ,page up and page down keys and symbols keys like dollar symbol etc.There may be many types of the keyboard ,like Standard keyboards,gaming purpose keyboard , small keyboards for the laptops or the numaric keyboards that only has the numbers.

Standard keyboards are normally of two types 101 keys keyboard and 104 keys keyboard,84 keys keyboard is also used but not common.Keyboards can have a round type connector or has a USB connector to connect it to CPU.

The modern PC keyboard includes a control processor and indicator lights to provide feedback to the user about what state the keyboard is in.

A power supply converts 100-240 V AC Power (Depending on the power supplied by the power companies) from the mains to low-voltage DC power ( + 5 VDC & +12 VDC)for the internal components of the computer.
